Luis started out with no athletic back ground and a 119 pound frame to build on. Once he joined the Marine Corps fitness became a must. Focusing mainly on running and bodyweight fitness, Luis then got into standard weightlifting. After his deployment to Iraq the Marine Corps shifted their focus on Combat Fitness training. In an attempt to find a mix between lifting weights and staying conditioned Luis found crossfit in 2012. Within half a year Luis gained his level one crossfit certification and began coaching crossfit. Luis implemented his crossfit coaching not only in the gym but also in the Maine Corps when he would lead physical training. His Crossfit training really came through as he got certified as a Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor. Now Luis has shifted his focus more towards Olympic Lifting and competitive crossfit. However, Luis’ main focus still revolves around coaching and teaching. Through crossfit Luis has packed on a good bit of muscle mass and gained a large amount of strength.
